How to properly blow-dry and style your hair with a hairdryer - telling you in our article.

There is a common belief that blow-drying is harmful to hair. And many still think that it is impossible to do an easy styling for brushing at home if you do not take a course in hairdressing. However, despite the hot air exposure, your hair will remain healthy if all is done correctly. And it is quite possible to cope with styling on your own. You just need to take into account a few basic principles. Even if you are not going to style with a round hairbrush, but dry your hair for reasons of "just to keep it dry", you will also need this instruction.

Mistake # 1: Trying to blow-dry hair that is too wet or too dry

If your hair is completely dry after washing, trying to somehow style it with a hairdryer and a hairbrush is useless. It is almost impossible to change it, as the hair has already memorized the shape, you can only dry it out even more. Too wet hair is also difficult to style - excess water weighs down the strands. Moreover, after washing, the inner shaft of the hair - the cortex - swells and becomes especially fragile.

It is best to style with damp hair. Dump hair means 60-80% dried hair. How can you measure this 60-80%? The answer is - no way, and you shouldn't worry about it. Simply blot your hair after washing with a towel so that no water drips, and then blow-dry the roots and slightly along the length of the hair.

Mistake # 2: Do not apply heat protection

Exposure to heat hair appliances damages the hair structure - moisture evaporates from them, cuticle scales rise. Therefore, thermal protection is not a regular useless invention of marketers, but a completely functional tool. It covers the hair with a so-called film, and this film minimizes the negative effects of the hairdryer. Often, caring ingredients are added to such products - vitamins, oils, proteins, which additionally soften and nourish the hair.

Mistake # 3. Dry hair roots by directing hairdryer from crown to ends

Start drying your hair from the roots - this will give your hair a natural volume. However, if you direct the airflow from top to bottom, from the crown to the ends, then the volume, on the contrary, disappears.

If this is not your goal, it is best to dry the roots by directing the airflow from the bottom to the top. During drying, you can hold the bulk of the hair with your hand, lift the comb, or dry upside down.

Mistake # 4. Dry length from bottom to top

When drying the length, direct the airflow along the hair shaft - from roots to ends. This will close the cuticle scales and make the hair smoother. This also applies to regular drying and brushing. If dried against growth, hair will fluff up and lose its natural shine and smoothness.

Mistake # 5. Do not fix the curl with cold air

Hair retains its shape when cooled and changes shape when heated. Therefore, if you want to curl the ends or make curls by brushing, wrap the strand on the hairbrush and warm it first with hot air, and then cool it with cold air. Hair will retain its shape for longer.
