It only seems that red lipstick is a classic that everyone does perfectly well. But it often happens that makeup with scarlet lips is far from ideal. Here are the main mistakes to avoid.
Of course, you should not completely ignore your color preferences when choosing red lipstick. Still, it's important that the shade you choose at least matches your hair and skin tone. For example, makeup artists recommend brunettes cold or bright red shades without ginger and pink pigments. Red-haired owners are best suited for red lipsticks in berry shades, and platinum blondes are best suited for cold variations of red (for example, with a wine note). And for those with light brown hair, a wider range of shades is suitable. This is because this hair color is neutral - it is neither warm nor cold.
Lipsticks of bright colors, including red shades, tend to emphasize all skin imperfections. Lipsticks with a matte texture are especially dangerous in this sense. Before applying them, you need to make sure that the skin of the lips is smooth, even, soft does not crack or peel off. Use a lip scrub regularly - a sugar scrub, for example, very gently exfoliates the skin and removes dead skin particles.
Always start your makeup with lip balm so that you can apply the lipstick on softened and moisturized skin. Also, lookout for a category of products such as lip primers. In addition to smoothing the surface of the lips for subsequent lipstick application, they also help make makeup look more lasting.
No matter how much makeup artists love the effect of carelessness in makeup, a smeared contour is unlikely to decorate an image with bright lipstick. But you should not start lip makeup from the contour. It is hardly possible to achieve the ideal result. It is much better to start applying lipstick from the middle of the lips and only then start working on the contour. When the lips are already mostly filled with color, it will be more difficult to “crawl out” beyond their borders: the hand with a brush or pencil will no longer flinch.
Owners of thin lips should not use dark red shades of lipsticks, such shades are not able to visually enlarge the lips - on the contrary, this color further reduces them. To make thin and narrow lips look better, you should paint them with lighter shades and add a drop of transparent gloss in the middle to create a 3D effect. But naturally plump lips, on the contrary, should be painted with dark shades: such lipsticks look especially expressive.
Lipsticks of bright colors are the most relevant because they help to create a look in one motion and give it expressiveness, even if there was not enough time for full-fledged makeup. This is true, but still, it is better to approach the makeup more thoroughly if you are thinking of complementing it with red lipstick. An even skin tone, neat, not too bright eye makeup (thin black arrows would be ideal), slightly tinted eyebrows - this is the ideal make-up with red lipstick.
