The fastest and cheapest way to get an expressive look is using false eyelashes. Here are some basic rules for using them. Correctly selected false eyelashes can not only add expressiveness to the look but also visually change the shape of the eyes, as well as correct the overhanging eyelid.
There are one-piece and bunched (individual) versions of false eyelashes. Each of them has its own characteristics and difficulties in use. So, a one-piece tape with eyelashes often peels off at the edges, and separate bundles are difficult to apply in one line. For home use, it is optimal to buy false eyelashes on tape and cut them into 2-3 parts: you will get neat pieces that will hold securely and look as natural as possible. Moreover, for everyday use, it is enough to glue only one of them to the outer corner of the eye.
From all kinds of false eyelash options, it's best to choose one that won't contrast too much with your natural eyelashes. Of course, if we are talking about a daytime look. For example, if your lashes are short, use lashes only a few millimeters longer than your own. If you have long but sparse eyelashes, add thick eyelashes of the same length or even slightly shorter to them. Your eyes will be visibly transformed, but they will still look natural.
To apply false eyelashes:
1) Cleanse your skin and eyelashes
There should be no makeup or moisturizer on the eyelids, otherwise, the adhesion will be minimal.
2) Curl your own lashes with an eyelash curler
As a rule, false eyelashes have a beautiful curve and in order to avoid noticeable difference, your own eyelashes must match them.
3) You can hold the false eyelashes with your fingers or eyebrow tweezers
If you are using tweezers, be sure not to press too hard to avoid breaking the eyelashes.
4) Apply a drop of glue to your wrist or palette and gently run the base of your false eyelashes over it
This will distribute the glue as evenly as possible, in contrast to the method when the glue is immediately applied to the eyelids or eyelashes.
5) Wait 10-20 seconds for the glue to set and apply the false lashes as close to the natural lash line as possible
Press down in the center and then around the edges. Wait until it is completely dry.
6) Do your usual makeup
Pay special attention to the eyeliner and mascara: this will make the border of your own and false eyelashes indistinguishable.
Do not pull off false eyelashes without special preparation! In order to safely and painlessly remove the glue, apply a cotton pad dipped in warm water or micellar water with oils to your eyelashes. There are also special removers. After a while, start peeling off your false eyelashes gently. Do not pull too hard, otherwise, you may damage not only the fake but also your own eyelashes. After you have removed the eyelashes, remove your makeup in the usual way. Remove the remnants of the glue from the false eyelashes: this way they will last a very long time.
Do not skimp on glue, choose only specialized and high-quality products. The glue should not only hold the eyelashes securely but also be safe for the delicate skin of the eyelids.
If you regularly use false eyelashes, you should especially thoroughly moisturize your skin and nourish your eyelashes with special products. This is the only way they can withstand the additional load.
