The brighter color and soft texture, barely perceptible on the lips, are what made liquid lipsticks so popular. What subtleties of their use do you need to be aware of?
A few years ago, lip glosses became a real trend - products that can create a coating of the brightest color on the lips, and even with a glossy finish. A little later, matte lipsticks were also produced in liquid form. And so a new trend has developed: liquid lipsticks are now at the peak of popularity. They have several distinctive features. Firstly, due to its liquid texture, this lipstick gently lays on the lips in a thin layer and moisturizes their skin. Secondly, such lipsticks allow one movement to create a much brighter coverage than classic lipstick sticks. Thirdly, liquid lipsticks are long-lasting.
What do you need to know about using liquid lipstick in order to build a strong friendship with this product?
All the difficulties in applying such lipstick are due to the peculiarity of its texture because it has a liquid texture. It seems that it is about to flow and will go far beyond the contour of the lips, one has only to show inattention or carelessness. Therefore, the classical preparation of the skin of the lips with a balm can complicate an already difficult situation. If you are using matte liquid lipstick, then you cannot do without a balm.
When the coating turns from shiny to matte, it seems to dry out on the lips, tightening the skin and thereby bringing discomfort. To avoid unpleasant sensations, you must first soften your lips with a balm. But it must be absorbed - not partially, but completely, otherwise, the liquid lipstick applied on top will spread and "flow".
Instead of a lip balm that complicates things, you can use a special primer to prepare your lips for makeup. For example, the Ultimate Ozone Multipurpose Primer Pencil from Urban Decay can come to the rescue - a multifunctional primer pencil that fills in all the irregularities on the surface of the skin of the lips softens it (the product contains jojoba oil) and thereby prepares it for applying the most ruthlessly dry textures.
You can prepare your lips for applying liquid lipstick in another way. It is not necessary to have a special primer. A classic lip liner is enough. It is best if it has a neutral nude shade. It is universal and will fit no matter what kind of lipstick you have in your hands. Liquid lipsticks are so pigmented that they will hide a layer of nude pencil underneath without the slightest difficulty. With a pencil, outline the contour of the lips - this is a must if you are barely familiar with liquid lipstick. Without experience, you can make a mistake and go outside the contour due to any careless movement. At the same time, correcting mistakes made by liquid lipstick is much more difficult than using a lipstick stick.
Many unknowingly apply liquid lipstick in several layers, which is why the coating turns out to be uneven instead of smooth and looks ugly from the side. In addition, by the middle of the day, the lipstick can be cracked and thereby completely ruin the entire makeup. One layer is enough - this is one of the secrets of using liquid lipstick.
Most often, liquid lipstick is produced in packages with a soft "plush" applicator, like a lip gloss. You need to get used to it, "fill your hand" in order to draw clear, even lines for them the first time. Beginners most often draw curves with such applicators, it is impossible to accurately outline the contour of the lips. More precision will be achieved with a professional lipstick brush.
For example, even with great efforts, it did not work out to get a perfectly even contour: the liquid lipstick still "got out" beyond the borders of the lips. Then you will have to adjust the result. First, you can erase mistakes with a cotton swab dipped in micellar water. Secondly, they can be masked with concealer. By the way, the outline of the contour from the outside with concealer will also help to visually give the lips additional volume.
