If the shadows have crumbled, they are most often thrown away. And in vain - you can even save a whole palette if you know beauty hacks. Sharing valuable information with you.
One awkward movement - and the eyeshadows, hitting a hard surface, crumble to a state of loose powder. This does not mean that they are spoiled, but it is inconvenient to use them in this form. How to fix broken shadows? We will tell you how to restore broken shadows, and so that they look new after that.
"What to do?" - a legitimate question if your favorite shadows accidentally crashed. They can crumble not only as a result of falling or hitting a hard surface. If you have worn the eyeshadows in a cosmetic bag for a long time, the result will be the same in the end. In both cases, the consequences are fixable - if there are several necessary tools for recovery nearby.
List of things:
You need to stock up on 70 percent alcohol, but there are ways to do without it. However, if a pungent smell scares you away while working with it, do not worry: the updated shadows will not smell like it, everything will disappear in a couple of days.
If you have broken the shadows in a sealed package, everything is simple - you have to work with the "fragments" remaining inside the palette. If they crumbled after opening, it will, of course, be impossible to collect everything to the last crumb. In this case, try to use what is still in the package, supplementing the leftovers with the largest pieces from those that spilled out.
Try not to squeeze them with your fingers, so as not to completely crumble. It is better to take them with a wipe - and then pour other remnants of the product on it.
The restoration of broken eyeshadows is not much different from the "repair" of crumbled powder.
If the shadows are broken or crumbled, they can be restored in just five minutes. Proceed in the following way:
1) Collect both the eyeshadow powder and the larger pieces in a plastic bag to finally crumble them into a homogeneous powdery mass.
2) Gently pour the resulting powder back into the package.
3) Draw up some alcohol with a pipette or syringe. A couple of drops are enough for a small case. Mix it with the powder little by little until it becomes creamy. It is important that the texture does not become liquid - the mass must be thick and dense enough.
4) Cover the eyeshadow with a napkin and press down on the surface with the convex side of a spoon. This way they will be compressed again. By the way, the same action can be performed with a metal coin, if it fits the diameter of the case.
5) Remove the napkin and leave the eyeshadow open overnight. During this time, the alcohol will evaporate and the characteristic smell will disappear. After that, the shadows can be used again.
Using alcohol to restore eyeshadow is not for everyone. So, this method is not suitable for owners of sensitive skin. How do we return the eyeshadow to a functional look without the use of alcohol?
You can turn powdery eyeshadows into creamy ones. It's just that instead of alcohol, you will need to use petroleum jelly or glycerin for mixing with the powder. After that, it makes sense to transfer the shadows to a case that is more convenient for the new texture.
But if you still need dry eyeshadows, then a life hack with an iron will come in handy.
1) Turn it on, but turn off the steam supply (moisture should not get into the container with the powder).
2) Crush the eyeshadows by first pouring them into a bag, just as in the case of using alcohol.
3) When you grind the eyeshadow, remove the metal container from the case that you would normally put the pigment in. Pour colored powder into it, tamp it down with a spoon.
4) Unplug the iron (also from the socket). While hot, press it against the surface of the powder in a metal container for 10-15 seconds. You can repeat this action a couple of times. As a result of the heat and pressure, the shadows will be compressed and will look almost like new ones.
How long will the eyeshadow last after recovery? The most persistent in this sense will be shadows that have been restored to their previous appearance with the help of alcohol. Due to the uniformity of texture, which this method of "repair" allows, the shadows will serve exactly the same as before "breakage".
Restoring with an iron no longer guarantees such a result - it is quite possible that after some time the shadows will begin to crumble again. However, they can also be friable to create makeup.
